Greetings  . . .  from the Top Dog!

Hi, I'm Cat Breedlove, owner/operator, executive chef and the TOP DOG at The Hungry Dog Deli.

When I adopted Gracie, a beautiful English bulldog rescue with a multitude of health issues, I did what any concerned pet owner would do, I took her to the vet.  We became regulars at the vet's office. It was discouraging trying one medication after another with only temporary results.  What we wanted was a permanent solution, so I began looking for a  holistic and proactive approach.  It only made sense to focus on what I know best, food.  So, I created a diet that is fresh, delicious and healthy.  Once Gracie was off the commercial food and eating a homemade menu, her skin issues subsided, her itching ceased and the dark stains in her facial folds disappeared.  Her once dry and brittle fur became rich and puppy soft.  By eating a variety of real food, she began drinking less water and to my delight, only defecates once a day.

Our friend Munster (a senior English bulldog) began having health issues.   Munster had a thick perpetual drool, a yeasty tail pocket, and his arthritis was so bad, his little legs would shake when he tried to stand up.  His vet had placed Munster on a special dry food diet that was just not helping and the pain medication for his arthritis made him lethargic.  We didn't expect Munster to be around much longer, so I offered his dad Matt, some of Gracie's food.  We thought, towards the end of his life, Munster should at least enjoy his food. After eating Gracie's diet for six weeks, Matt called requesting more food for Munster.   When Matt and Munster arrived, I opened the front door and Munster rushed in.  He was so excited and full of energy.  His thick drool was gone and he moved around the house like a much younger dog.  Overjoyed, I ran up the stairs to share the news with my family and Munster ran right up with me.  The results were stunning.  Munster was more agile, his fur had softened, and he was off the medication.  Plus, for the first time in a very long time, he enjoyed a good butt scratch.  The transformation was amazing and life changing.

So, with the encouragement of my husband, friends and fur-friends, I have created The Hungry Dog Deli to give hard working people the opportunity to feed their fur-babies a healthy fresh meal without all the fuss of doing it themselves.

Bon appetite my furry friends!
